DeKalb County Planning and Sustainability is excited to share the launch of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update. This update is an important opportunity to guide the County’s unincorporated areas toward sustainable, equitable and well-planned growth.
The Comprehensive Land Use Plan is a foundational policy document that establishes a long-term vision for future land use, housing, economic development, sustainability, and community investment. Our key policy target areas include sustainability, retail, housing, transit-oriented development, health and wellness, and arts and culture.
More than a visioning document, the plan will serve as an implementation tool to help guide future development, public investment, and policy decisions across the County. Community input is essential to this process. Your participation will help shape the framework for future growth and development.
Project Goals
While the comprehensive land use plan will focus on different required elements such as broadband and the community work plan, we are also focusing the plan update around nine update goals.
Land Use
Natural Resources / Resiliency
Housing
Economic Development
Transportation
Equity
Arts, Culture, & Historic Resources
Community Health
