The ordinance regulating campgrounds has been proposed by the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners. The proposal affects Chapter 27 (Zoning Ordinance) of the Code of DeKalb County Ordinances.

A campground shall be defined as a designated land use for temporary accommodation in temporary structures such as, but not limited to tents and yurts for recreational purposes.


Proposal Highlights

The proposal intent is to support the 2050 Unified Plan development goals. Along with defining different camping types in DeKalb County.

  1. Temporary - Tents
  2. Semi-Permanent - Canvas tents; Teepees
  3. Permanent-Cottages, cabins' permanent foundation
