Upcoming Engagement Opportunities

Public Open House🎤 All community members are invited to attend a Public Open House on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, 5:30-7:30pm, at the DeKalb County Government Service Center, 178 Sams Street, Decatur, GA 30030. (Please allow time for building security.) This drop-in event will provide community members the opportunity to review draft recommendations, share feedback, and have one-on-one conversations with the planning team. Event Schedule (all times approximate): 5:30 pm – 5:40 pm: Welcome and sign-in 5:45 pm – 5:50 pm: Presentation of project background and goals 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm: Open House Feedback: Community members have the opportunity to review draft recommendations stationed around the room, share feedback, and have one-on-one conversations with the planning team. 7:15 pm – 7:30 pm: Closing comments and feedback recap

Project Overview

DeKalb County has embarked on a Small Area Plan (SAP) for the Decatur Terrace area with the goals of:

• Protecting the character, residents, and long-term stability of Decatur Terrace as change occurs;
• Guiding new development to be compatible, predictable, and supportive of the surrounding neighborhood;
• Addressing flooding, traffic calming, and pedestrian safety through targeted infrastructure improvements;
• Identifying early actions and strategic investments to spark long-term neighborhood improvement.
